Indonesia AirAsia joins busy Melbourne-Bali route

Indonesia AirAsia has commenced daily nonstop flights between Melbourne and Bali with A320 aircraft. Read More » The inaugural service, operated by A320 registration PK-AZV, touched down at Melbourne Tullamarine a little after 0520 local time on Saturday, about five hours and 40 minutes after taking off from Bali. The aircraft was on the ground for about 90 minutes before departing for Denpasar. "Bali continues to be the most popular international holiday destination for Australians," Indonesia AirAsia general manager, Captain Achmad Sadikin Abdurachman, said. "This new service supports AirAsia’s goal to make travel more accessible for Australians who wish to experience Bali, while also discovering the many remarkable destinations across the wider Indonesian archipelago." Indonesia AirAsia joins five other airlines - Batik Air Malaysia, Garuda Indonesia, Jetstar Airways, Qantas Airways and Virgin Australia - on the busy Melbourne-Bali route. Jetstar is also launching flights from Melbourne Avalon to Bali later today (March 23). The now-defunct Indonesia AirAsia X previously operated to Melbourne and Sydney from Bali in 2015 and 2016.
