Philippine Airlines touches down in Palau

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has commenced nonstop flights to Palau. Read More » The inaugural service, operated by A321 registration RP-C9909, touched down at Roman Tmetuchl International Airport on April 9. PAL will serve Palau, which is in the western Pacific Ocean, twice a week from its Manila hub. "This launch reinforces Manila’s position as a key regional transit hub while strengthening its role as a gateway for medical tourism," PAL president, Richard Nuttall, said. "It also underscores PAL’s role as a reliable bridge connecting Pacific communities with the broader Asia‑Pacific region." PAL is one of two airlines on the route alongside existing service from United Airlines. The Philippines flag carrier’s new Palau service joins its recent resumption of Manila-Saipan nonstop flights, which also operate two times a week. The A321s PAL is operating on the two routes are configured to carry 199 passengers, with 12 business class seats and 187 economy class seats.
