Virgin Australia books 22% increase in annual net profit

Virgin Australia reported underlying net profit after tax of A$404 million ($290.64 million) for the 12 months ended June 30, representing a 21.9% increase from a year earlier. Read More » The profit was attributed to strong travel demand, solid fuel hedging, and the airline’s transformation program aimed at boosting pricing, loyalty earnings and efficiency. “We delivered strong earnings growth and further margin expansion despite significant inflationary pressure across the aviation supply chain and a more challenging operating environment,” Dave Emerson, Virgin Australia CEO, commented. In its outlook, the airline said it is expecting RASK to grow between 6% and 8% in the six months ending December 2026. To support revenue growth, the carrier will reduce its domestic capacity by 3%.
