Japan Airlines (JAL) and Kasumigaseki Capital will participate in a joint hotel development project, the “Naha Higawa Hotel Project” in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture. The partnership aims to enhance the value of the “JAL Mileage Lifestyle” in everyday life and travel.
StarFlyer has approved a 10-year lease for one LEAP-1A26 spare engine from Engine Lease Finance Corporation (ELFC), with the lease scheduled to begin in December 2027. The Japanese airline expects total lease payments of approximately JP¥3.3 billion (US$10 million) over the planned 10-year term.
NOEMI Aerospace has signed a memorandum of understanding with Indian seaplane operator SkyHop Aviation covering the potential introduction of up to 15 NOEMI amphibious aircraft. SkyHop plans to introduce up to 10 aircraft by FY2030 through purchases, leases or a combination of both, with options for five additional aircraft. The agreement remains subject to operational and commercial evaluations, regulatory approvals and definitive agreements.
China Airlines (CAL) announced that it will, for the first time, participate in the 2026 Asia Pacific Sustainability Expo under the theme “Sustainable China Airlines: A Net-Zero Start,” sharing its achievements in promoting sustainability and mutual benefit with partners from all sectors. CAL also received the “Taiwan Sustainability Action Award” for the first time, winning honors in both environmental and social categories.
Qantas Group has opened its new Emergency Procedures Training Center (EPTC) in Sydney, part of a $100 million investment in pilot and cabin crew training facilities across Qantas and Jetstar. Located at Qantas’ Mascot campus, the center will train more than 10,000 Qantas, Jetstar and QantasLink pilots and cabin crew each year.
Peach Aviation announced that it has reached a cumulative total of 80 million passengers served. The milestone was achieved in July, 14 years and 4 months after the launch of the LCC.
