flydubai adds new Nepal service amid ongoing restoration of network

U.A.E.-based flydubai will start nonstop flights to Pokhara in Nepal from its Dubai hub from September 23 as it continues to restore its flight network. Read More » The LCC has scheduled daily flights to Pokhara with 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The new service to Pokhara will join flydubai’s existing service to the Nepal capital, Kathmandu. In other network updates, flydubai is adding a third daily service to Bangkok Don Mueang from late November. flydubai said it had restored operations to 85% of its network, with about 2,200 flights a week scheduled, following severe disruptions to air travel in the region due to the U.S.- and Israel-led invasion of Iran earlier in 2026. "We are encouraged by the confidence of our customers which is reflected in the strong performance of recently launched routes and the demand we have seen over the summer," flydubai CEO, Ghaith Al Ghaith, said. "As conditions stabilise, we remain well positioned to fully restore our network."
In other flydubai news, the airline will start dedicated freighter operations out of Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport with three 737-800 freighters from October 1. The aircraft have been acquired through a wet-lease agreement with SolitAir.
