Iran Air order 20+20 ATR72-600s, considers regional subsidiary

Iran Air has placed a firm order for 20 ATR72-600s, plus 20 options, valued at 1 billion Euros ($1.1 billion) at list prices. Deliveries will begin this year. “The Italian and French states (by way of their respective export credit agencies) played an important role to achieve the signing of this deal,” said ATR CEO, Patrick de Castelbajac, adding the lifting of sanctions against Iran marked a “new era”.
In the interim, Iran Air is considering setting up a domestic subsidiary to increase connectivity among the country's more remote and underserved regions.
