Embraer promotes Slattery to President and CEO

Brazilian aircraft maker, Embraer, has promoted CCO, John Slattery, to President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, effective from this month. Read More » Slattery, who joined Embraer Commercial Aviation as vice-president for customer finance and asset management in 2011, will replace Paulo Cesar Silva, who will succeed Frederico Fleury Curado as Embraer’s overall CEO.

Udvar-Házy to become executive chairman at Air Lease Corporation

Los Angeles-based Air Lease Corporation’s (ALC) board has appointed John L. Plueger as CEO and president, effective July 1, to succeed founder, Steven Udvar-Házy. Udvar-Hazy will be the lessor’s  executive board chairman, a full-time role at the company.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I thank Steve for his extraordinary leadership of ALC as its founder, chairman and chief executive officer,” said Robert Milton, ALC’s lead independent director and chairman. “Steve started ALC in February 2010. As a result of his vision and guidance, the company today owns and manages 268 young and in-demand jet aircraft on lease to 88 airline customers around the world and has an order book of 386 new jet aircraft to be delivered from Airbus and Boeing through 2023."

Plueger, who joined ALC as president and COO in 2010, has more than 30 years of aviation industry and aircraft leasing experience, 24 of which were with International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), where he last served as president, COO and then acting CEO before joining ALC.
