Mitsubishi receives up to 20 new MRJ orders

Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation made some important progress this week after signing a Letter of Intent for 10 MRJ90s, plus 10 options, with Rockton Aviation, a regional aircraft lessor based in Stockholm. Read More » Rockton is the first European firm, and second lessor, to select the MRJ. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2020.

Rockton president, Niklas Lund, said “the MRJ was a game changer,” and declared its “efficient clean-sheet design, unrivalled passenger comfort and new state-of-the-art Pratt & Whitney PW1200G engines herald the future of regional air travel”. The first MRJ is scheduled to arrive at launch customer, All Nippon Airways (ANA), in mid-2018. ANA has 15 frames on order and options for another ten.

Mitsubishi has received 447 MRJ commitments: 243 firm orders, 180 options and 24 purchase rights. The manufacturer has selected MRO Japan, the maintenance arm of ANA HOLDINGS, as the sole airframe maintenance provider in Asia for the MRJ, including heavy maintenance and flight operations support.
