March 10th 2017
HNA Group’s Fortune Wings Club will become the first frequent flyer program in Mainland China to award points based on ticket price and membership level instead of flight distance and class. Read More »
From July 1, passengers of HNA carriers Hainan Airlines, Grand China Air, Tianjin Airlines, Lucky Air, Capital Airlines, Fuzhou Airlines, Yangtze River Airlines and Guangxi Beibu Gulf Airlines will earn 10 miles for every 10 yuan ($1.45) spent on both the base fare and airline surcharges. Select, silver, gold and platinum card holders will earn an additional one, three, six and eight miles, respectively.
“These changes will be more reasonable for allocation of award points in order to provide a better experience for our most valuable customers. In the future, the Fortune Wings Club will continue to make improvements to be the most valuable frequent flyer reward program,” said Hainan senior vice-president for sales and marketing, Hou Wei.
HNA will also improve the Fortune Wings Club flight award redemption scheme, easing restrictions and providing more award seats than before and at different redemption rates.
U.S. carriers American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Chicago-based United Airlines set a precedent when they introduced price-based mileage accrual from 2015.
