TRU qualifies first B737 MAX FFS, sells second B777X FFS to Boeing

South Carolina-headquartered TRU Simulation + Training has completed the interim Level C qualification of the first ever B737 MAX full-flight simulator (FFS) at the Boeing Training Campus in Miami. Read More » TRU’s MAX FFS was certified by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in February.
The suite includes a FFS and a Flat Panel Trainer classroom, which are part of a 10-year agreement for TRU to manufacture and deliver multiple B737 MAX full-flight training suites to Boeing’s global training campuses.
“We are very pleased to realize this important milestone with the Boeing team, which demonstrates TRU’s strength, further confirming our position as a world-class supplier to major airframe OEMs,” said George Karam, vice-president and general manager of TRU’s Air Transport Simulation Division.
First delivery to B737 MAX launch customer, Malindo Air, is scheduled for May, with Norwegian and Southwest Airlines next in line.
TRU also received purchase orders from Boeing for the production of two FFS suites for Boeing’s latest long-haul aircraft, the B777-9. The 777X series is on track for first delivery in 2020. Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways are among the launch customers.
