Boeing wins first half order and delivery race

Chicago-headquartered Boeing has outperformed arch rival, Airbus, in orders and deliveries for the first six months of 2017, to June 30. Read More » Boeing booked firm orders for 380 commercial aircraft during the period compared with Airbus’ 248 orders.

The Boeing list is 267 B737 series aircraft, most notably the B737 MAX series, 79 B787s, 20 B777Xs, 12 B777-300ERs, one B747-8F and a B777F. After 57 cancellations and conversions, Boeing’s net order tally for the six months was 323 aircraft.

In the same period, Airbus sold 212 A320 Family aircraft, 33 A350-900s and three A330s. It had 45 cancellations and conversions which resulted in net orders for 203 jets.

Boeing also outperformed Airbus in deliveries. The U.S. firm delivered 341 aircraft, including 63 B787s and 41 B777-300ERs. Airbus delivered 304 aircraft, including 30 A350s and six A380s.
