“We have been held up a little by the Hong Kong government changeover and the Chinese government changeover. There is a very clear path through regulatory constraints,” she said. “We are very confident of being able to fly by the end of 2013.”

Jetstar Hong Kong, which is a joint venture between the Australian low-cost subsidiary of the Qantas Group and Shanghai’s China Eastern Airlines, is seeking regulatory approval to base itself in Hong Kong and is in the process of applying for its air operator’s certificate.
