Hainan Airlines continues onslaught on Europe

The agreement was signed on Tuesday between Vienna Airport CEO, Julian Jäger, and Hainan Airlines, during a visit to China of Austrian President, Dr. Alexander van der Bellen, and Austrian Federal Chancellor, Sebastian Kurz.
“We are pleased to welcome Hainan Airlines as the first airline of the HNA Group and our new partner here in Vienna. As a result, travellers and air freight forwarders can benefit from 17 destinations in Asia,” Jäger said. In late March, Hainan inaugurated Shenzhen-Brussels and Shenzhen-Madrid flights as well as Beijing-Tijuana-Mexico City.
Despite the stretched financial situation of its parent, HNA Group, Hainan Airlines also has announced two new long-haul destinations from Beijing. From June 12, the carrier will operate twice a week Beijing-Edinburgh-Dublin and twice a week Beijing-Dublin-Edinburgh flights, both served by two-class A330-300s. Hainan Airlines will hold monopolies to both destinations.
