Airbus breaks ground on U.S. A220 plant

Read More » The facility, which will supply North American customers, is the European aircraft manufacturer’s second commercial aircraft production facility in the U.S. It will be built adjacent to Airbus’s A320 family production line and completed next year.

Production of the 100-150 seat A220-100s and A220-300s will commence in the third quarter of this year with first delivery scheduled in 2020. A minimum of 500 orders have been placed for the aircraft that will be powered by Pratt & Whitney’s PW1500G geared turbofan engines.
