The son of the late Y H Cho, Walter Cho Won-tae, 43, is the new chairman of Hanjin Group, the parent company of Korean Air. The younger Cho also was named co-chief executive of Hanjin-kal, the holding company of the Hanjin Group.

Y H Cho died in a Los Angeles hospital from a chronic illness in early April. The senior Cho was the CEO and chairman of Korean Air, but had recently been voted off the lead board of the Hanjin Group. Walter Cho has been president and COO of Korean Air since March 2016.


Honeywell announces new ASEAN president

Fortune 500 global technology and aerospace manufacturer, Honeywell, has announced Brian Davis as president of Honeywell ASEAN following the retirement of Briand Greer in June.

Davis most recently was vice president Asia-Pacific commercial aviation under the company’s aerospace strategic business group and also aerospace leader of Honeywell International Sdn Bhd, the first multi-national company to join Malaysia’s principle hub initiative. He established a Honeywell aerospace aftermarket headquarters in Malaysia to accelerate the response time for Honeywell’s ASEAN aviation customers.
