Region’s airline association names successor to director general Andrew Herdman

Singapore Airlines (SIA) veteran, Subhas Menon, will take on the role of director general of the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) on March 1, next year following the decision of the present AAPA boss, Andrew Herdman, to retire after serving the association since 2004. Read More »
Menon most recently has been SIA’s regional vice president Europe.
AAPA chairman 2019 and Cathay Pacific Airways CEO, Augustus Tang, said: “on behalf of our member airlines, I thank Andrew for his dedication and strong leadership of the AAPA over the last 15 years.
“Under his guidance, the AAPA has strengthened its profile, both internationally and within the Asia-Pacific.
“The AAPA is recognized as an authoritative voice of Asia-Pacific aviation and has built strong relations of trust with member airlines and other key aviation stakeholders, including the International Civil Aviation Organisation, regional and national regulators and other industry bodies."
