Australia's international passenger numbers drop 98% in December

Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics (BITRE) has reported 79,370 international passengers flew into and out of Australia in December, down 98% from four million in the same month a year earlier. Read More » On a more positive note, the December figure was up 18%, from 67,211 international passengers, in November. Singapore Airlines was the largest international carrier operating into and from Australia in December, with 12,481 passengers, or 15.7% of all travellers flying to or from Australia in the month. It was followed by Qatar Airways (13.1%) and Air New Zealand (12.1%).
