Two-way Australia-New Zealand air travel bubble closer to introduction says Ardern

In two weeks, the New Zealand government will set the date for commencement of a green travel zone with Australia, the country’s prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, said yesterday. Read More » "Much work" has been done on arrangements for quarantine-free travel between the two countries, she said. "We intend to announce the date for the start of the trans-Tasman travel bubble on April 6," Ardern said. Representatives from New Zealand and Australia have met 12 times to work through the complexity of the travel bubble and were seeing that bear fruit now, she said.

In other New Zealand news, the country has extended its International Airfreight Capacity (IAFC) scheme to October 31, from April 30. The scheme was established in March last year to help maintain cargo links with overseas markets.
