Changi Airport reveals misery of Lunar New Year demand slump

Singapore Changi's monthly traffic report said the airport handled 118,000 passengers in February, a 96.6% reduction from 3.45 million passengers 12 months earlier. Read More » The February figures were 18.6% below the 145,000 passengers the airport hub serviced in January. There were 6,710 commercial aircraft movements in February, a decline of 74.4% from 26,200 in the same month a year earlier and 10% less than 7,500 in January. Singapore Changi said 124,000 tonnes of cargo were processed through the airport in February, down 15.6% from 147,000 tonnes in February last year and 15.1% below 146,000 tonnes in January.
