Mainland regulator reports 31.8% domestic passenger decline in January

There were 30 million domestic air travellers in China in January, figures from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) showed, down 31.8% from 44 million in the same month a year earlier. Read More » In addition to the year-on-year decline, the January figure was off by 28.8%, from 42.2 million domestic passengers, in December. January’s international passengers fell 97.8% year-on-year, to 142,000. The CAAC said passenger load factor was 64% for the month compared with 71.9% in December and 76.7% in January 2020.
