Increase in A220-300 maximum take-off weight “a paper change” says Airbus

Airbus has increased the maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of its A220-300 regional jet by one tonne, to 70.9 tonnes, FlightGlobal has reported, citing comments from Airbus vice president of single-aisle marketing, Antonio Da Costa. Read More » The MTOW increase, to be offered to clients later in 2021, will extend the range of the type by 200nm. The A220-300’s current range is 3,400nm. The upgraded MTOW will be available for new aircraft and as a retrofit option for existing aircraft via a service bulletin, the report said. No physical work on the aircraft was required, with Da Costa describing the process as a “paper change”.
