AirAsia Group boss reassures customers they will receive ticket refunds despite long delays

In a video message posted on Linkedin yesterday, AirAsia Group CEO, Tony Fernandes, said the LCC group was working to issue refunds to the remaining 450,000 people yet to receive them. We will get there and we will do our best as soon as possible to get you flying, get your refund back. The light is at the end of the tunnel."
In the same video, Fernandes said long-haul LCC group, AirAsia X, would survive its financial woes. It is attempting to restructure its debt and reduce the number of issued shares, but it is in deep financial difficulty "because it just has not been able to fly anywhere", he said. "Plus, it has had to deal with very unfair competition over many years," he said. Fernandes, a board member of AirAsia X, said. "I believe the airline will come back very strongly."
