Vietnam’s fast expanding hybrid carrier acquires six slots at London Heathrow airport

Read More » In a Facebook post, the airline said it had been allocated six slot pairs to serve Heathrow by Airport Council UK from May. Bamboo Airways plans to operate three flights a week from Ho Chi Minh City and three a week from Hanoi to the U.K’s largest airport using 787-9s. Its current international network is scheduled flights to Seoul Incheon and Taipei Taoyuan and charter services to Ibaraki, Jeju and Macau, the Bamboo Airways website says.
In other news from Vietnam, the country's civil aviation authority said regular international services would be restored in three stages, starting with flights for Vietnamese citizens that included a stint in hotel quarantine.
Stage two, due to begin in July, would include capacity for about 6,000-7,000 arriving passengers a week from Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) said in a statement. Passengers would have to quarantine on arrival.
Stage three is planned for September and would cover passengers with a vaccine passport.
