Emirates “has no visibility” on delivery of first 777-X, says CEO Clark

Emirates Airline president, Sir Tim Clark, said overnight the Dubai-headquartered carrier may have to wait until 2025 to receive the first of the 115 777-Xs it has ordered. Read More » "We should have had the first one in June of last year," Clark told the Simple Flying website. "And so far, we don’t have any visibility about when the first one will arrive. It’s either the back end of 2023, 2024 or possibly even 2025." The 777-X program already was behind schedule, with deliveries expected to commence in mid-2020. In late 2019, Boeing said entry-into-service would be pushed back to 2022. Then, in early 2021, the company again delayed first delivery, this time to 2023. Emirates is the program's largest customer.
