Britain bans entry to travellers from India as cases of new COVID-19 variant increase

British nationals, residents and Irish nationals who had stayed in India would be allowed to return, but they will be required to spend 10 days in a managed quarantine hotel. Four airlines offer nonstop flights between India and the U.K. – Air India, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Vistara. India is experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases with a record 273,810 people diagnosed with the coronovirus yesterday, according to official figures.
