Etihad Airways to park A380s “indefinitely” says CEO Tony Douglas

Etihad Airways Group CEO, Tony Douglas, told an online World Aviation Festival event overnight the Abu Dhabi-headquartered carrier's 10 A380s would be grounded indefinitely given market conditions. Read More » The aircraft, which feature an unique three-room cabin, The Residence, were a wonderful product, Douglas said, but they were no longer commercially sustainable. Etihad also will end 777-300ER operations by December this year, with all 19 of the aircraft type to be withdrawn from service. Douglas said Etihad's fleet would be built around the 787 and A350.
