New Zealand establishes second two-way Pacific air travel bubble

New Zealand and the Cook Islands will operate a reciprocal air travel bubble that will commence on May 17, it was announced yesterday. Read More » The enhanced agreement will expand a one-way arrangement in place from January that allowed travellers from the Cook Islands to enter New Zealand without quarantine. Air New Zealand has informed travel agents it will operate two to three 787 flights a week between Auckland and Rarotonga from May 18. The schedule is planned to gradually increase to daily by early July. New Zealand prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, said: “It will mean families can reconnect, commercial arrangements can resume. Kiwis can take a much-welcomed winter break and support the Cook Islands’ tourism sector and recovery."
