New Indonesian LCC to fly “in the near future” says CEO; focused on millennials market

Indonesia airline, Super Air Jet, was preparing to begin flying in the "near future" with A320s and operating on a low-cost carrier model, CEO Ari Azhari told Reuters news agency yesterday. Unconfirmed media reports said Super Air Jet had links with Indonesia's Lion Air Group and said Azhari had worked at the privately-held company. The Lion Air Group stable is made up of Indonesia’s Batik Air, Lion Air and Wings Air, Malindo Air in Malaysia and Thai Lion in Thailand. "Super Air Jet was founded on the basis of optimism that market opportunities, especially for domestic flights in Indonesia, still exist and are wide open," Azhari told Reuters. "There is very strong demand from the community for air travel today, especially from millennials."
