International airline association says China’s domestic air travel bookings reverting to 2019 patterns

Read More » The airline lobby group said late last week 51% of domestic air travellers in China were booking their flights within three days of travel in April 2021. The figure was down 61% from March to May 2020 and much closer to the 48% levels of April 2019, IATA said, suggesting "booking behaviours have almost reverted to pre-crisis times". Passengers globally continued to make the decision to fly late, despite the recovery in domestic travel, with 33% booking their tickets within three days of travel and 49% within a week of travel in April 2021, IATA said. The numbers compared with 26% and 38%, respectively, in April 2019.
