IndiGo chooses CFM LEAP-1A for 310 A320neo family aircraft order

Indian carrier, IndiGo, has selected CFM International's LEAP-1A engine for its order of 310 A320neo family aircraft. Read More » The agreement is for 620 new installed engines, some spare engines and a long-term multi-year service contract for the arriving A320neo, A321neo and A321XLR aircraft, IndiGo said. The latest announcement added to IndiGo’s commitment, signed with CFM in 2019, for the LEAP-1A engine to power the airline's order of 280 A320neo.
“The introduction of CFM LEAP engines into our fleet will allow us to maintain our strong focus on lowering operating costs and delivering fuel efficiency with high standards of reliability," IndiGo chief aircraft acquisition and financing officer, Riyaz Peermohamed, said. CFM International CEO, Gaël Méheust, said the 50/50 GE Aviation and Safran joint venture was "fully committed to helping IndiGo optimise its operations by providing it with industry leading asset utilisation, fuel efficiency and overall cost of ownership".
