Mainland China flew 47.7 million domestic passengers in April

China's domestic carriers transported 47.7 million passengers in March, more than three times the 14.6 million air travellers recorded for the same month a year ago, figures from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) record. Read More » Compared with pre-COVID-19 levels, the March 2021 numbers were up 0.5%, from 47.5 million domestic passengers in March 2019. Domestic capacity, or Available Seat Kilometres, improved by 223.4% year-on-year in March 2021 against March 2020 and were 1.6% higher than March 2019. Domestic passenger load factor was 76.8% for the month, a favourable result against 58.6% in March 2020 and 83.4% in March 2019.
