THAI to commence five international routes from Phuket in July

Thai Airways International (THAI) said it would resume nonstop flights between Phuket and five European cities from the start of July – Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London, Paris and Zurich. Read More » The nonstop flights have been scheduled as Phuket prepares to allow local and overseas visitors fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to travel to the popular tourist province from July 1 without undergoing quarantine. Visitors must stay on the island for least seven days after their arrival in Phuket. The Tourism Authority of Thailand said this week its "Phuket Sandbox" program was on track even as Thailand battled a fresh wave of COVID-19 infections. Phuket's vaccination rollout, which commenced in April, aims to have 70% of the population – or about 460,000 people – inoculated against COVID-19 by June 30. "As of June 1, 2021, Phuket’s vaccination programme has reached 54% of the population, mostly among locals and non-residents," Phuket vice governor, Pichet Panapong, said.
