Virgin Australia appoints Bain partner as chief commercial officer

Virgin Australia (VA) has named Dave Emerson as the airline's chief commercial officer effective immediately. Read More » He will be responsible for commercial strategy, revenue management, sales, distribution and marketing. Emerson, a Dallas-based senior partner at consulting firm, Bain and Company, has been working at the airline since he came on board as a consultant in 2020. VA proceeded through voluntary administration to Bain ownership last year. "Dave has earned an international reputation for excellence while advising dozens of major airlines in all major geographies globally. I am delighted he will be joining our executive leadership team,” VA CEO, Jayne Hrdlicka, said. Emerson succeeds John McLeod who announced his retirement from VA earlier this year.
