Hong Kong and Singapore will consider a starting date of early July for a twice-delayed air travel bubble (ATB). Read More » The ATB, which will allow quarantine-free travel between Hong Kong and Singapore, was scheduled to start in late 2020, but was postponed due to the number of COVID-19 cases recorded in Hong Kong at the turn of 2020 and earlier this year. A May 26 start also was suspended after a spike in COVID-19 infections in Singapore. "Both Singapore and Hong Kong remain strongly committed to launching the ATB safely," the Singapore Ministry of Transport said. "The COVID-19 situation in Singapore has improved with the number of community cases and local unlinked COVID-19 cases showing a downward trend. Hong Kong’s COVID-19 situation continues to remain stable, with very few community cases over the past few weeks."
