Japan Airlines reduces June and July domestic schedules

Japan Airlines (JAL) has cancelled another 7,214 domestic flights to July 31, including 837 flights between June 17 and June 30 and 6,377 flights in July. Read More » JAL plans to fly 61% of its normal domestic flying pattern in June, down three percentage points from the 64% operation rate outlined in a previous schedule update in late May. The July operation rate also will be 61%. "We will continue to monitor the external environment and demand trends on each route, and consider revising our flight plan as necessary, such as operating extra flights or increasing the size of some flights.

Similarly, All Nippon Airways (ANA) has eliminated 11,470 flights from its July domestic schedule due to the change in demand trends from the pandemic. The schedule change means ANA's domestic operation rate in July will be 51%.
