EVA Airways May passenger numbers 97% below pre-COVID-19 levels

EVA Airways flew 31,613 passengers in May, little changed from 31,839 passengers in April. Read More » The Star Alliance member's monthly traffic report said the May figures were up 44.8%, from 21,831 passengers, in the same month a year ago. However the numbers were 97.1% below pre-COVID-19 levels EVA carried 1.1 million passengers in May 2019. The Taiwanese carrier said passenger revenue for the month was TW$665.5 million (US$24.1 million), up 22.1% month-on-month from TW$545 million in April and 32.8% above TW$501.2 million in May 2020. On a pre-COVID-19 basis, EVA's May passenger revenue was down 91.9% from TW$8.2 billion in May 2019.
