Air New Zealand to recommence Auckland-Taipei flights in August

Air New Zealand (Air NZ) intends to recommence nonstop passenger flights between Auckland and Taipei Taoyuan from August with 787-9s. Read More » In a note to travel agents, the airline said it will operate one return flight a month between the two countries in August, September and October. "These services are part of the Maintaining International Air Connectivity Scheme (MIACS) that is supporting our cargo flights," Air NZ said. The Star Alliance member said transit via Taipei was not permitted as travel had to be completed by the same airline. New Zealand and Taiwan are largely closed to foreign visitors, but the border is open for returning citizens, residents, diplomats and other exempted categories.
