Singapore Airlines (SIA) will launch live online shopping via its KrisShop e-commerce platform on June 28. Read More » The service will be part of SIA's KrisWorld inflight entertainment system. Initially, it will be available on selected A350s before being rolled out across the carrier’s fleet. SIA and KrisShop worked with AirFree, Thales and Panasonic Avionics to offer the service, SIA said. Customers can have items delivered to their homes or aboard on their next SIA flight. If the latter option was chosen, the goods would be sold at duty-free prices, SIA said. "E-commerce is the future of shopping and integrating this feature into our inflight entertainment system is another industry first for SIA," the airline’s senior vice president for customer experience, Yeoh Phee Teik, said. "This allows KrisWorld to go beyond movies, television shows, music and games to offer customers more of what they want when flying with us."

In other SIA news, the airline will commence fifth freedom flights between Copenhagen and Rome from July 16 as part of a Singapore-Copenhagen-Rome routing flown by A350-900s.
