Korean Air consortium to join country's space effort

Korean Air (KAL) said it would participate in South Korea's space effort through a partnership with the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, NDT Engineering and Aerospace and Korea Aerospace University. Read More » The academic and industrial consortium will develop common bulkhead propellant tanks for small satellite launch vehicles as part of South Korea's ministry of science "Space Pioneer" project. KAL said the consortium has a budget of 32 billion won (US$28 million) and that the ministry planned to invest up to 211.5 billion won by 2030 in the project. "Through the successful launching of the project, Korean Air plans to contribute to the development of Korea's space industry and strengthen the industry’s global competitiveness," KAL said.
