Budget carrier, Nok Air, has paid 150 million baht (US$460,000) to buy out SGA, in a strategic decision that will give the Thai carrier access to several regional airports not able to be serviced by Nok’s fleet of B737-800s. Read More » Nok Air confirmed the purchase of the 14-year-old feeder and charter carrier known as Nok Mini, in late February after months of negotiations with the ailing SCGA founder, Jain Charnnarong. SGA’s fleet of six Saab A340B turboprops flies to 10 Thai destinations and two cities in Myanmar – Yangon and Maw Lamyine.
