China moving closer to 737 MAX test flights, reports Bloomberg

China's aviation regulator is nearer to conducting flight tests on the 737 MAX, Bloomberg news agency has reported, citing unnamed sources not authorised to speak publicly. Read More » The news agency said Boeing was preparing to send a delegation of 35 engineers and pilots to meet regulators in China late this month. Aviation regulators in Canada, Europe and the U.S. have lifted the two-year grounding of the 737 MAX, but the aircraft is still not cleared to fly in China. In March, Mainland regulators expressed "major concerns" about the aircraft type, which has undergone design changes and updated pilot training following two fatal crashes in Indonesia and North Africa. The MAX also has been cleared in Australia, Fiji and New Zealand.
