China's domestic passenger totals were steady in May

China's airlines flew 50.91 million passengers on their domestic network in May, little changed from 50.96 million in April, figures from the Civil Aviation Administration of China show. Read More » The May 2021 figure was up 97.7%, from 25.72 million domestic passengers carried in May 2020 and 5% above pre-COVID-19 levels of 48.48 million in May 2019. Domestic passenger load factor was 79.2% in May compared with 78.4% in April and 68.5% in May 2020. International passenger traffic at Mainland airlines was 98% below levels achieved before the onset of the pandemic.
