Hong Kong Airport posts passenger, cargo growth in June

Hong Kong's airport handled 83,000 passengers in June, up 40.1% from 59,000 passengers in the same month a year ago. Read More » "The year-on-year increase in passenger traffic was mainly attributed to the low base for comparison," Airport Authority (AA) Hong Kong said. "Traffic to and from Mainland China and Europe recorded significant increases." When compared with pre-COVID-19 levels, the June 2021 total was 98.7% below the 6.3 million passengers the airport had in June 2019.  AA Hong Kong reported cargo output rose 11.5%, to 399,000 tonnes for the month, compared with 358,000 tonnes 12 months ago.
