Northern Mariana islands-South Korea air travel bubble commences

In June, the governments of South Korea and the Northern Mariana islands - a collection of 14 islands in the northwestern Pacific Ocean - established an air travel bubble that offers quarantine-free travel to passengers fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The start of the air travel bubble coincided with a rise in COVID-19 infections in South Korea. The country recorded 1,630 cases on Friday, compared with 645 new daily cases a month ago.
