Japan Airlines reports US$531 million net loss for June quarter

Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced a 57.9 billion yen (US$531 million) net loss for the three months to June 30, an improvement from a 93.7 billion yen net loss in the same three months in 2020. Read More » Revenue rose 74.1%, to 133 billion yen, JAL said in a filing to the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The company said: "At present, it is difficult to reasonably foresee the recovery of international and domestic passenger demand, thus we are not able to provide our performance forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022. We will disclose our forecast as soon as we are able to foresee, to a certain extent, a recovery of passenger demand as COVID-19 situations in various countries, including Japan, settle and vaccination advances in those countries."
