Boeing 787 deliveries on hold until October: report

Deliveries of Boeing 787s will remain suspended until the end of October as the manufacturer continues to work with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on fixes to manufacturing defects, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) has reported. Read More » In July, Boeing said it had been in talks with the FAA on verification methodology for 787 fuselages as well as conducting associated inspections and rework. It also identified additional work that would be required on undelivered 787s. The airframer said at the time it expected to deliver less than half of the 787s currently in inventory this year. The WSJ said a meeting between Boeing and the FAA in early August could not reach agreement on the the process to inspect the affected Dreamliners. Boeing's orders and deliveries report shows the company last delivered a 787 in May.
