Singapore Airlines (SIA) has signed a three-year contract extension with Australian-based maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider, Heston MRO. Under the agreement, Heston MRO will continue to provide MRO services such as full handling of aircraft transits, defect rectification, local warehousing and logistics support for all incoming and departing SIA passenger 777, 787, A350 and A380 aircraft at Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth airports as well as 747 freighter services at Melbourne. Korean Air (KAL) has purchased a month of carbon-neutral jet fuel from partner, SK Energy, for use on domestic flights departing from Cheongju and Jeju. The fuel is considered carbon neutral as the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions produced from its production, transport and consumption were offset with carbon credits.
