Read More » The agreement, announced at the China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai, will see GAMECO open two 767-300BCF conversion lines next year to help meet strong market demand. The MRO already has a 737-300BCF conversion program and will be the only facility in China converting both aircraft types. “It was mutually beneficial to continue building our relationship with GAMECO to provide additional conversion capacity for the 767-300BCF while supporting growth in the region,” said Boeing vice president commercial sales and marketing for China, Peter Gao. “GAMECO has demonstrated excellent execution on the 737-800BCF program. We know it will bring the same expertise and proven capability to help deliver our medium wide-body freighter conversions to our global customers.” Boeing forecasts demand from Asian carriers will account for more than 40% of the 520 wide-body freighter conversions needed over the next 20 years. Overall, it expects 1,720 freighter conversions will be required by the market by 2041.
