Read More » It also has reduced its airport pricing for extra baggage to a flat rate of $45. The airline’s two top fare tiers will now be known as Flexirefund and Flexichange. Flexirefund will give customers the maximum flexibility to change the date, time, destination or origin up to departure without incurring a change fee. They can also receive a refund if they choose not to travel and no fare difference will apply if a flight time is changed on the day of travel. Air NZ chief customer and sales officer, Leanne Geraghty, said flexibility was important to customers. “With normal fare rules for domestic travel due to resume from 1 November we wanted to ensure we had a long-term fare structure in place providing customers with more options when it comes to travel flexibility,’’ Geraghty said. “Customers will still be able to opt-in to credit should their flight be impacted due to alert level changes.” The baggage changes see at the at-airport cost of additional bags drop to a flat rate of $45 from $80 for the first bag, $120 for the second and $170 for the third. The airline’s COVID-19 flexibility policy for international travel extends to February 28, 2022.
