Malaysia's SKS Airways plans to fly from December

Short-haul start-up, SKS Airways, hopes to operate its inaugural flight next month as it works to obtain a full Air Services Licence (ASL) from the Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM). Read More » An update on the airline’s website said it has a conditional ASL and was awarded an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) on October 1. It’s first flights are tentatively scheduled for some time in December, it said. SKS Airways plans to operate domestic short-haul leisure, commuter and charter flights. Its operations will be mainly focused on popular island-based resorts and coastal resorts with connections to major cities within the Malaysian peninsula. It will work with island resort owners and tour agencies providing holiday packages to domestic and international tourists. “SKS Airways will be offering affordable fares and convenient flight schedules,’’ it said.
